Changing Negative Thoughts Into Positive Mindset

We have probably heard these words over and overplaying our minds all our lives. It goes without saying that if you command yourself to think “I am abundant and will attract wealthiness”, but the very deep core belief inside you tells that you are never enough of your success: Then your brain will be quick to incite an inner war process within.

If you’re trying to self-talk and say “I am successful”, but you struggle with insecurity regarding your skills and accomplishments, your subconscious may likely remind you of the many times you’ve embarrassed yourself in front of your boss or made a mistake at work (trust me, we’ve all been there!).

“A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.”

Mahatma Gandhi
Changing Negative Thoughts Into Positive Mindset
  • ‘It’s all my fault’
  • ‘No one will understand’
  • ‘I’m way too fat and ugly
  • ‘I’m unfit to be a good parent’

What I have discovered in my life lately, (more like an experiment) I was taking note of my thought habits. And by doing so, I have identified both the positive and negative patterns of my mind voice and learned to tame my inner voice into affirmations and attitudes.

For example, sometimes I ask myself, “Why blog? What have you got to say that’s worth sharing?” Clear isn’t it. My negative thoughts were talking me through on my willingness to pursue a successful blogging journey.

I procrastinated in sharing my written thoughts. The awareness of our unhealthy negative thoughts is very important to our well-being. We need to tame them, hence….

Here are a few steps to keep control of them:

#1 Recognize your negative thoughts

Consciously increase your awareness of their disruptive impact will help in motivating you to take control of them.

#2 Change the negative thoughts

For example, if you are worried and focusing on what could go wrong in a situation, change your thoughts to what could go right. The mind can only think one thought at a time, so changing the negative into a positive eliminates the negative.

#3 Stay motivated in times of need

Use an affirmation. Begin affirming to yourself something positive and self-supporting. The mind will focus on what you are repeating to yourself.

#4 Use humor & fun!

Often times we all get too serious and stressed when we are faced with negative thoughts. Think of something funny to change the energy and atmosphere, or do something fun like going to a movie or having a night out with friends. Don’t let your negative thoughts have power over you! Be proactive in eliminating them.

#5 Practice your positive voice

Becoming aware of the flaws in your way of thinking and changing your negative thoughts is a complex process that requires a lot of practice. But silencing your inner self starts with taking the first step.

I can do this.

Always remember, you are to love & be loved.”

Being your own cheerleader feels a lot nicer than being your worst critic.

Remind yourself that the negative thought you are thinking is “only mere negativity.” It has no power unless you give in to it. Negativity only gains momentum in your thinking habit over and over and over again. So stop thinking and start changing.

What impact have negative thoughts had on you? How do you manage them?

Negative thoughts used to keep me in the bondage of depression. I am free now by quoting Bible verses. These verses give me peace and happiness.

Lord Buddha said the same thing,” What you think, you become.”
These negative thoughts are very stressful that hinders your progress in life. I would rather do some breathing excercises and then meditate or as you said i would use my humour time by watching some funny videos and in no time i will empty my negative thoughts.
