8 Ways To Live A Content Live

Have you ever noticed that happy people have their own way to rule their steps? They would walk their talk and fill a boring room with rainbows of happiness simply because they have a pleasant aura that outshines gloominess. Happy people seem to have figured out the heartfelt way to live a full life.

Researches have it that happy people have habits they practice daily and most of them contradict what society says is best. Happy people don’t look outside themselves for happiness but they lean on their inner circle emotions and follow their guts.

Happiness is cultivated by action, and the faster we can unlearn the life lessons that society tells us, the sooner we will feel happiness.  Truly, there is no one-size-fits-all, program to fully-attain contentment in your life.

Here are eight ways that have helped me further develop contentment in mine/your lives:

  • Control your attitude.

A person who lacks contentment in their life will often engage in “when I get a new house, then I will be happy.” Instead, take control of your own life. Remember, your happiness is not connected to possession. We are here on earth for a temporary visit and your happiness should be based solely on your decision to be happy – and this may be one of the most important life lessons you can ever learn.

  • Stop comparing your life with others.

Social media has taken a ride on our generation that too much is too little. Sometimes we scroll across someone else’s Instagram/Youtube and tell ourselves “wish I have this life of hers/his”. The rule of comparison of your life with someone else’s will always lead to discontentment. There will always be people who “appear” to be better off than you and seemingly living the perfect life. But be advised, we always compare the worst of what we know about ourselves to the best assumptions that we make about others. Their life is never as perfect as your mind makes it out to be. You are unique. You are special. And it’s always better that way.

  • Be grateful

Being thankful never falls out. So be grateful for everything you have NOW. Not yesterday, last month, a year ago or what it will be in the future. But NOW. Be it if it’s food on the table or to have a roof under your head to sleep at night. You need to take the time out of your day and give thanks either out loud or in your mind for all the things you have. This simple task takes less than a minute and will have a dramatic impact on your current happiness. Trust me, it works!

Love yourself for who you are. Don’t try to be someone you aren’t. You don’t have to change anything about yourself in order to be happy and content. Never stop learning, growing, or discovering. Take pride in your self-development, personhood and the progress that you have made, but never become so content that you cannot find room for improvement. As soon as you stop LOVING yourself, you start dying. When you show up for yourself, you can show up for the world.

  • Fake your happiness until you make it.

Do you know that faking can be one of the greatest tools you have for changing your mindset? Feelings are often followed by actions. Have you ever get yourself in a situation when someone cracks a joke and you have got no idea what it is but you actually end up laughing! So fake being happy right now until you really start to feel that way. Easy isn’t it?

Push away every anger and negative energy that surrounds you today.  A negative vibe brings nothing but depression and hates upon your existence. Be positive and stay optimistic. Don’t worry yourself with a negative attitude or by being around negative people. Life is too short to be stuck in a ‘hulk mode’.

Fully sharing yourself is the key to a happy life. Being vulnerable means you don’t hide away, instead, you fully embrace yourself and shine your light. Strive for the best and settle for whatever you end up with. Don’t worry if you don’t come out on top. Most of us don’t. Give it your best shot and be happy where you end up.

  • You are who you are.

You are not a noun. You are so much more than your job title, role or position in life. Start celebrating you for you, because you make a difference just as you are.

Live for this moment and forget about the past or things that haven’t happened yet. Living in the moment will get you involved in what is going on currently. Take the time to explore your senses. Enjoy the atmosphere where your at or maybe go outside and listen to the sounds of nature. Good luck!
