The Five Minute Journal Changed Me Entirely

The ticket to our innermost happiness is simple: Keep a focus journal. The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story and writes another, and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with what he vowed to make it.

This article is something I have been meaning to write about a while now, it is a routine that has really helped me mentally over the past few months. Have you ever experience this where you know exactly what u want in life, but you can’t seem to get there?

  • You’re going to get healthier/happy/tolerance
  • You’re going for a solo journey around the world.
  • You’re going to be more organized.
  • You are going to clear and get out of debt.
  • You are going to take a dance class.

But the truth of the problem is: Doing these is tough and it only gets tougher every day. I too experience this and on some days, it seems more realistic to just give up entirely. The whole point of taking one step forward or two-step backward pattern is just getting too old. Each morning I wake up and tell myself, ‘today is the day’ only to fall back for my old patterns and be laid back. And there goes my day, even so, my week.

When there is a gap between who you are, and who you intend to be, and you are in between. Unhappy. You’re torn mentally, exhausted and regretful. You always feel like you are cheating yourself and probably to the people around you – Least I went through this. Conversely, Gandhi has said, ‘Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.’

FIVE MINUTES IN THE MORNING’ it teaches the gift of giving yourself a few minutes at the beginning of the day for a little self-inquiry and reflection. A simple ‘How are you Cherisha?‘, ‘What do you need today?‘ or ‘What is your intention for the day ahead?‘. Give yourself a space to settle for a few moments and you take that feeling with you.

I use this journal daily and I only journal every morning. This helps to set positive intentions to the start of my day and reminds me of everything I had accomplished the day before and be grateful for the day forward.
The 5 minutes in the morning journal – it’s simple. I found this journal at the local bookstore and it was screaming to me, thus I purchased it. I call it my GRATEFUL FOCUS JOURNAL because I believe in cherishing every count of gratefulness that happens in my life. There’s a reason to it hear me out. Keeping a gratitude journal will force you to always look on the bright side, which will change the way you see.

Processing the beauty of nature while journaling my Five Minutes in the Morning.

I have two principles looking at it. Gratefulness is the opposite of depression and anxiety. Also, ‘to vent’ is not as healthy as we thought and focusing on those negative thoughts may even have negative consequences for our mental and physical health.

Life is not easy. To deal with life will probably take an entire lifetime to understand them. Life is super busy. I don’t have time to focus on a thousand different areas of my life to change. That’s exhausting and frankly, it’s not helpful either. If you try to tackle everything wrong in your life, you’ll quickly burn-out and quit. It happened many times before.

Day – 1, I was laid back. So, I started reading each page of the book as it has something to ‘talk’ to me (refer pic below). It made me curious to just write down what I felt at the present moment and this became a routine. Now every day I look forward to every morning just to write, sounds funny but that’s the truth. I told myself if there’s anything I want to change in my life is I must start being ‘less busy’ and be ‘more available’ to me. Small changes or habits that people introduce into their routine unintentionally carry over into aspects of one life. Writing every morning for 5 minutes has become a part of my life.

So if you’re serious about transforming your life, empower yourself with this game-changing book. Even if you start a journal session in a bad mood, the insight writing brings has a subtle way of shifting your mind towards gratitude. When you start writing what you’re grateful for, new chambers of thought open in the palace of your mind. You’ll often need to put your pen down and take a few overwhelming breaths. You’ll be captivated not only by the amazing things in your life but by the awe and brilliance of life.

As part of my morning journaling sessions, I include some gratitude in my writing. It has changed my entire life orientation from undersupply to abundance. Gratitude makes other people like you, increases your self-esteem, reduces materialism, strengthens your emotions, makes you look good, increases your energy levels and the list goes on. Definitely changed my life for good, it will change everything in your life for the better.

Tried journaling couple of times. It had a lasting impact on me, followed by my daily routine. This article boosts me up in keeping up the journalism all over again. Thankyou for writing this wonderful article, Cherry.

Very true it’s just very important to give yourself time really important. Most times we give other things in our lives time and forget that we also need to give ourselves time too. Will join the challenge.
