Natural Beachy Waves Hair Tutorial

I’m channeling my inner Alia Bhatt in this blog today! Who else had watched her ‘Dear Zindagi’ movie? Her hair were total goals!

I am blessed with natural curls so creating a neat and natural beachy waves is easier for me. I’ve received so many requests on Instagram that I had to create one video! You can find my other hair related blogs here, and watch this newest one below!

Natural Beachy Waves Hair Tutorial

I’m teaching you how to do these beachy waves with whatever curling iron you already have! No need to purchase a expensive 3 barrel iron, unless this is a look you are wanting on a daily basis in which case a 3 barrel iron would save a lot of time! Otherwise, use with what you’ve got. P.S I had been using mine for many years now and by far, my hair curler is my magic wand.

This technique takes practice, but if you really pay attention to where you are putting the iron in, you’ll be able to do it!

  1. Hair Protein cream from Himalaya
  2. Hand gloves
  3. Your hair styling curler!
Himalaya Protein Hair Cream
Kiloline Professional Heat Resistant Glove for Hair Styling Heat Blocking
KIPOZI 1 1/4 Inch Curling Iron Hair Curler

I washed my hair with Pantene Shampoo Smooth and Conditioner. After towel drying, I applied Himalaya Hair Protein. They act as the heat protectant. I LOVE that this hair protein is organic and I always ensures my hair is at its best health too!! Then, at my ends, I applied Lucido Argan Hair Oil (off camera). I blew it dry straighten and then started curling!

Step by step:

  • Separate hair according to your natural part and section off. Take the first piece of hair, about an inch at a time, and place in the curling iron.
  • I always start with Pull the hair curler forward towards the front of you, giving it a half-turn and glide it down until you reach the end of your hair, then release. I do 2 full rotations with my curling iron, making sure the end of my iron is pointing mostly down. (Hold the curler horizontally to get more of a beachy wave, vertically to get curls.)

Curling has to be fun so explore your hair and style them the way you desire it to look! End of the day it’s your confidence that pulls off any look!

Let me know if this had worked for you!

3 Easy Steps for Black Smokey Makeup

I’m thrilled to share my tips and tricks on how-to create a black smokey eye makeup look. If you are a beginner, then this makeup is completely designed for you.

Creating a STUNNING black smokey eye is our goal and this look is amazing on all eye colours because it’s a bold look and you are giving a statement from your features.

Watch the video below to recreate this Black Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial!

Step By Step:

  • Step 1: Use a light colour as the base, in this video I used the shade Raw Sienna using the MODERN RENAISSANCE palette right from my lash line up to my brows. This will even out any imperfections and discolouration.
  • Step 2: To create the ‘SMOKEY’ effect, I used Blackjack from the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette and even it out by dapping the color all over my eye lids. It okay if it looks smudgy, we will even them all out by blending those colours.
  • Step 3: Using the same palette as you see on the video above, I used the grey shade Magnet, brown shade Lockout and orange shade Extra bitter on the outer corner of my eyelids. Blend, blend, BLEND with your eyeshadow brush or a beauty blender. This is to avoid harsh edges.
  • The product details for this makeup look is mentioned on my Youtube channel.

I hope this smokey eye inspires you to go outside your comfort zone, so step out of the box and create something unique on your eyes this week.

It’s a perfect look for winter and you are BOUND to turn heads. It only requires 3 or 4 colours (depending on how blended you want the look to be), and they are very neutral colours, so there is a good chance you already have these colours in your charm!

Make sure to watch my Youtube channel and subscribe to it for more interesting makeup videos. Apart from that, I make Vlogs. Check out my recent Munich article here.

This time their new packaging looks more unique. They changed from semi-D black boxes to hexagon looking boxes with a soft orange touch. I liked how this new packaging looks, its more funky and goes with their theme of Caramel-Skinned Babes. The logo remained the same.

Tips On Making Your Selfie Like A Pro

We live in a selfie obsessed era. Whether you walk right into a cinema or take a walk in the park, the majority of the population will have their phone glued to their hands all-ever ready to snap a selfie. Selfies are just another form of self-portraiture. It is taken by yourself, not by a photographer but you and there is an absolute sense of freedom to genuinely express yourselves to build your own self-image. The best part of all, selfie allows one to accept themselves and to become more confident with our appearances.

Did you know that there is an art into taking a perfect Instagram selfie? Be it in your best angle or posture you are who you snap out of your smartphone, ONLY when it’s done in the right way. Let’s dig right at it.

We’ve seen it all, from celebrities to beauty and fashion bloggers – A flawless perfect selfie! It seems that they look better than most of us because they are more photogenic??? But there’s actually more to it and the No.1 successful tip is lighting!

I’m pretty much sure you have heard this number of times now! Lighting is crucial in any photograph and right there is your key success for your selfie. Whether it’s a natural light (preferably natural) or an outdoor shoot, make sure the light is towards your face as this will make your skin glow and look amazing.

It is important to find your body language composition during a selfie. Strike your favorite pose! One hand on hip? Mirror selfie? Slightly pouted lips? Duck-face? Anything that brings your inner confidence, do it anyways.

A perfect angle gives the perfect leverage over controlling your background and controlling how you look in the picture. A quick tip to get your angle right – My personal selfie hack, I always hold my phone slightly above my head and tilt it down at myself at my most best angle and this help make my face structure slimmer and it outshines my face in the best possible way. Try it! Picture as shown above

`There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.’ ~Ernst Haas

The most common failing factors are when you take a picture in a dark and gloomy backgrounds especially a public bathroom or dark room selfie,. Now there is nothing wrong at this but its absolute necessary to take care of our selfies background. This drives a different energy through your pictures and it does reach your audiences. Sometimes because of the choice one make in a poor background selection selfie, we often seen it turns into a memes/joke. Don’t let that happen to you!

Don’t be shy to use editing software in your photos. I started using Instagram exactly 4 years ago and I never thought of editing my pictures. I often strive for a good lighting for a selfie but it often lands me in poor creativity on my own pictures. When I started exploring the social media platform and learning the skills to perfect a selfies or a picture, I came to realize that even a high end photographer uses editing software to enhance the look of their model! Thanks to America’s Next Top Model, I often see how Yu Tsai makes a magic on his artworks.

Use anything that suits your niche. I use only VSCO, Facetune, Adobe Photoshop & Light-room. All this app offers advanced functions, including shutter speed and white balance controls, which keep colors accurate in my photos. Do not be afraid to venture into editing, you never know  what the outcome of your picture will be.

Lift, smile, shoot from above. And, just before you snap, don’t be afraid to throw out all the tricks and just be you. Laugh, smile, frown, stick out that tongue. Whatever you’re feeling, let it be freely expressed. You may not look like a supermodel, but you’ll look like your authentic self. And that, is exactly what a good selfie is all about.

Would you like to know how I edit my pictures? Let me know in the comments below and I will plan on an article.

Coping With Depression

A common misconception about depression is that it is something people can just “snap out of.” Unfortunately, for those people who experience major depression disorder, it’s not that simple. Depression is a pervasive feeling. It’s almost as if you are in a black tunnel with no light. It drains your energy, hope, and drive, making it difficult to do what you need to feel better. But while overcoming depression isn’t quick or easy, there are ways to alleviate the symptoms of depression.

Stop the Negative Self Talk

Depressed people tend to see the world in a negative way. When things go wrong they blame themselves and when they go right, they put it down to luck. Depression brings self-doubt and feelings of worthlessness. When these types of thoughts overwhelm you, it’s important to remind yourself that this is the depression talking. These irrational, pessimistic attitudes—known as cognitive distortions—aren’t realistic. Monitor your inner negative talk! Don’t take your thoughts seriously when you are feeling low. Acknowledge the thoughts but this doesn’t mean you have to believe them. Keep a positive perspective. Often, they’re part of a lifelong pattern of thinking that’s become so automatic you’re not even completely aware of it.

Forgive Others

When we hold a grudge against the people who made us felt bad, we are the ones who end up feeling the rage of anger. Most of the time, the person who hurt or offended you is now off living their own life. They’ve moved on, but it’s you who are holding on to that pain. Anger can be a hard emotion to deal with, but it is actually a natural human reaction to frustration. Getting angry may seem like it would only make you feel worse, but when you don’t deal with anger directly, you tend to turn it on yourself. They have may have caused you grief in the past, try not to allow that grief to continue – it only affects you, not them. Find a way to forgive – they are not worthy of your time. You can recognize and accept your anger in a healthy way that releases the emotion without allowing it to fester or be turned into an attack on yourself. Remember, forgiveness benefits the forgiver more than the person being forgiven.

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness practices don’t change our feelings or thoughts, but they do change our relationship to our feelings and thoughts. Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment and is a skill that needs to be practiced. It doesn’t change our feelings or thoughts, but they do change our relationship to our feelings and thoughts. This enables a person who has a tendency toward depression to not get swept up in the thoughts and feelings that contribute to his or her depression. Researches indicate that if you teach people with recurrent depression mindfulness skills, such as meditation and breathing exercises, it reduces their chances of having another depressive episode.

Get Enough Sleep

Depression can make it hard to get enough shut-eye, and too little sleep can make depression worse. Sleep and mood are closely connected. Inadequate sleep can cause irritability and stress, while healthy sleep can enhance well-being. Studies have shown that even partial sleep deprivation has a significant effect on mood. The quality of your sleep directly affects the quality of your waking life, including your mental sharpness, productivity, emotional balance, creativity, physical vitality, and even your weight. What can you do? Start by making some changes to your lifestyle. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try not to nap. Take all the distractions out of your bedroom – no smartphones, Instagram, Facebook and no TV. In time, you may find your sleep improves.

Connect With People

When you’re depressed, the tendency is to withdraw and isolate. Even reaching out to close family members and friends can be tough. Compound that with the feelings of shame and the guilt you may feel at neglecting your relationships. Don’t feel alone, social support is absolutely essential to depression recovery. Staying connected to other people and the outside world will make a world of difference in your mood/life. And if you don’t feel that you have anyone to turn to, it’s never too late to build new friendships and improve your support network.

Don’t give up

Depression can make you want to hide away from the world and disappear. It’s okay to take some time out but give yourself a time limit and then do something productive to improve your mood. Hang in there and keep the faith.

If you’ve taken self-help steps and made positive lifestyle changes and still find your depression getting worse, seek professional help. Needing additional help doesn’t mean you’re weak. Sometimes the negative thinking in depression can make you feel like you’re a lost cause, but depression can be treated and you can feel better! Seeing a Doctor & chat over any symptoms is a step in the right direction.
